My second picture book published by Marshall Cavendish.

When I first received the manuscript for Counting Sheep I thought it was a perfect rhyming story full of puzzling fun and adventure that will have children counting sheep whilst smiling themselves to sleep. My only concern was the amount of sheep that needed illustrating in the book (There are loads of them), but I couldn’t turn it down. Ironically I did lose sleep illustrating this book, but it was worth it!

It all begins one cold, dark and stormy night when Sam can’t sleep and her mum suggests that she count some sheep. But how can Sam count them when one of the sheep can’t jump over the fence?

Follow Sam and her flock in this frolicking fun farmyard tale as they try to help little Shep find a way over the fence.

Will they find the answer so Sam can finally get to sleep?

This illustration was a gift to my partner to celebrate our first son.

In 2016 I was fortunate enough to leave the studio for 2 months to travel around South East Asia.

Being obsessed with wildlife, the most memorable day was spent at Yala National Park, Sri Lanka, where I had the opportunity to see a diverse range of animals living completely free. The highlight of the day was when a Sloth Bear suddenly appeared and gradually approached the vehicle that we were in. Eleri and I, as well as our guide, were the only people that saw the illusive bear that day. Our guide, who works seven days a week at the park, said he hadn't seen one in over six months and had never seen one that close before. Something I will always remember. 

I produced this illustration as a gift for Eleri. Without her I would never have been on the trip.

Well, there is a secret in Cody’s family. And that secret is becoming a real problem—a really HUGE problem—actually, five huge problems! But his family doesn’t believe him, so he has to figure out how to fix it, all by himself, before the problems wreck his family’s life! 

The Elephants in the Living Room is a chapter book about a loving family's dynamics and secrets, and how important communication is in the end.
